Tech X Telco is free to read. It is paid for by advertising and by affiliate commissions. This page explains exactly how that works, where you will see it, and the rules we follow so that money never decides what we write.

## How we earn

- **Plan comparison tables. **Some guides show live tables of mobile and internet plans supplied by a comparison partner. If you click through to a provider from one of those tables and sign up, we may receive a commission.

- **Product and service links. **Some links to retailers or providers are affiliate links. If you buy or sign up after clicking one, we may receive a commission.

- **Advertising. **Google serves the advertisements on the site and pays us when ads are shown or clicked. Advertisers do not know who you are and have no say in our content.

## What it costs you

Nothing. A commission is paid by the provider out of its own pocket, and the price you pay is the same whether you arrive through our link or type the provider’s address yourself. In some cases our link carries an offer that is not available elsewhere; when it does, the article says so.

## How you will know

- Plan tables carry a short note saying that we may earn a commission.

- Articles that contain affiliate links say so at the top or beside the link.

- Advertisements are labelled “Advertisement” and are visually separate from the article.

## Our rules

- We choose what to cover, what to recommend and how to rank options on merit for Australian readers. Commission rates play no part.

- We say when a product is worse value or when a cheaper option exists, even if we earn nothing from it.

- We do not accept payment for coverage, reviews or placement, and we do not publish sponsored content presented as editorial.

- Providers do not see articles before publication and cannot change them.

- Where a live plan table shows prices, those figures come from the provider through our partner when you load the page; we do not adjust them, and they may differ from what a provider offers you directly.

## Partners

We work with a comparison partner for plan tables and with Google for advertising, and may add or change partners over time. Where a specific relationship affects an article, the article says so.
