# Which Mobile Providers Use the Telstra Network?

**Quick answer**

Boost, Belong, ALDI Mobile, Everyday Mobile and Tangerine all offer service on Telstra infrastructure. Their coverage and plan features are not interchangeable: Boost specifies the full Telstra Prepaid network, while the wholesale providers use a different coverage footprint.

## Full coverage and wholesale coverage

Think of the coverage map as a first filter, before comparing prices. A provider can use Telstra’s infrastructure without offering the same footprint as a Telstra retail service. Even within coverage, the plan may have a download speed cap or different network features.

Boost currently describes access to Telstra’s 5G non-standalone network. We have kept that wording narrow rather than turning it into a promise that every Telstra 5G capability is included.

## Use the map for the places that matter

Open the map of the provider you are considering and check home, work and regular travel stops. Everyday and Boost explain that their maps predict outdoor coverage. Buildings, terrain, your device and network load can change the experience.

A national population percentage is not a percentage of Australia’s land area, and neither answers whether a particular room has reception. We have removed the old percentage comparison rather than mixing figures from different years and coverage definitions.

### A useful comparison before moving

1. List three important locations
   Start with somewhere you often miss calls, not only the suburb centre.

2. Check each provider’s own map
   Compare the relevant 4G/5G layer and read its coverage qualifications.

3. Check the actual plan
   Look for speed caps, hotspot use, Wi-Fi calling, roaming and any smartwatch requirement in its terms. Do not infer them from the network logo.

4. Try a short commitment where practical
   Use the phone you intend to keep. Test a call indoors and mobile data at a busy time before buying a long-expiry service.

If you mainly want a lower bill, compare the ongoing price and payment period after coverage. If you need a particular remote location, let that location decide your shortlist. A larger data allowance cannot compensate for an unusable signal.
