# What Network Does Dodo Mobile Use?

Dodo mobile uses the Optus network, not Telstra. Its current mobile plans include Optus 5G with downloads capped at 150Mbps. That is a maximum, not a guaranteed speed.

## What you get—and what the network name cannot tell you

Dodo sells the plan and handles your account; Optus supplies the underlying mobile network. Dodo’s nbn service is a separate product, so do not use an nbn availability result to judge mobile reception.

Dodo says actual speeds depend on location, congestion and the handset. Before moving, check coverage where you live and work, then try a service in those places if reception is important. A map covering your street is not a measurement inside your home.

## Dodo or Amaysim?

Both use Optus, so changing between them is not a switch to Telstra coverage. The useful comparison is the plan: expiry, ongoing price, data, international inclusions and speed cap.

### Compare the payment period

- Dodo: monthly
  Use the ongoing price after the introductory period.

- Amaysim: selected plans renew every 28 days
  Examples currently include 15GB/$30 and 80GB/$40, both capped at 150Mbps. Thirteen renewals cover 364 days.

Do not select a larger data allowance to solve a reception problem. Our suggested check is a call and a small upload at the problem location. If neither works reliably, investigate coverage or the handset before paying for more gigabytes.

## Bringing your number

Dodo offers a Keep my number option during signup. Match the account details to the existing service, and confirm the transfer status before disposing of the old SIM. The current Dodo page explains the transfer process; a SIM arriving in the post is not itself confirmation that the number moved.
