Should you buy one now?

Treat it as an older handset purchase. Our recommendation is to decide only after checking the exact model, condition, remaining software support and the total price with any charger or repair it needs. We have not completed a new hands-on test and are not giving it a current performance rating.

Ask the seller for the model number and a screenshot of the software and security-patch details. OPPO’s Australian security-period page did not establish a remaining support period for this model in our check. Confirm that directly with OPPO rather than assuming an update promise for a newer Reno also covers this phone.

Checks that matter on an older unit

Ask to see the screen on a plain light background, the USB port charging reliably and the camera focusing at both near and distant subjects. Confirm the return conditions, what accessories are included and whether any battery replacement has been documented. A specification sheet cannot establish the condition of the particular unit being sold.

If you already own one and it still does the jobs you need, start by checking updates and getting a repair quote for any specific fault. Age alone is not a diagnosis. For a purchase, ask your mobile provider to confirm compatibility of the exact regional model before paying.
