Tech X Telco is an independent Australian publisher. We explain phones, home internet, mobile plans, streaming and everyday technology in plain language, so that you can get a fair deal and make the most of what you already own.
Why we exist
Telecommunications and technology are sold with jargon, fine print and offers that change every month. Most people do not have time to untangle it. We do that work: we read the provider documents, check the regulator rulings, test the steps and write down what actually matters, in the order you need it.

How we work
Primary sources. Every guide lists the provider pages, regulator documents and official figures it relies on, with the date we read them.
Dates you can see. Each article shows when it was published and when it was last checked.
Corrections in the open. When we get something wrong we fix it and record the correction on the article rather than quietly rewriting it.
Australian first. Prices in Australian dollars, Australian providers, Australian consumer law.
Tools with a person in charge. We use software, including AI tools, to help research, draft, check and illustrate. A person reviews everything before it is published and is responsible for it. AI-generated illustrations are captioned as such.
No accounts, no comments, no tracking beyond advertising. You can read everything without signing up. Our Privacy Policy explains the little we do collect.
How the site is funded
Reading is free. The site is paid for by advertising and by commissions when readers sign up to a plan or buy a product through some of our links. Advertising is labelled, affiliate links are disclosed, and neither decides what we cover or how we rank options. The Affiliate Disclosure sets out the rules we hold ourselves to.
For search engines and AI assistants
We publish machine-readable copies of our guides so that search engines and reading assistants can cite us accurately, on the terms set out in our robots.txt and Terms and Conditions. If an assistant quotes us, we would like it to link back to the article so readers can see the sources and the dates.
