I Used Kogan Mobile for 8 Days: Here’s My Verdict

Kogan Mobile Network

I’m back, this time with Kogan Mobile on a Samsung S24. My goal was to assess Kogan Mobile’s coverage, ease of setup, customer experience, and overall value.

During my review, I was pleasantly surprised by the network’s speed, which felt comparable to a premium provider.

Initially, I had some concerns based on negative feedback I’d heard about various providers. However, within a day of using Kogan Mobile, those concerns were completely alleviated.

So with that said, let’s kick off this review!

Signing Up for Kogan Mobile

When I decided to give Kogan Mobile a try, I wanted the setup to be quick and easy. So, instead of waiting for a SIM card to arrive in the mail, I went to a local store and picked one up.

If you’re not sure where to buy a sim card, Kogan have a great page on Where You Can Buy A Kogan Mobile Sim Card, which details tons of locations in Australia.

Aside from these physical locations, you can buy a Kogan Mobile sim card from the website direct, as well as other online retailers.

So this turned out to be a great choice because I was able to activate the SIM card almost instantly, skipping the whole waiting-for-shipping hassle.

If you’re anything like me and hate delays, you’ll definitely appreciate this option.

First Impressions of the Kogan Mobile Network

Right from the start, I could tell that the Kogan Mobile network was solid. Activating the SIM card was a breeze and only took a few minutes.

I opted for a physical sim, however they do also offer e-SIM capability, and I’ll link a video below for anyone interested.

To be transparent, Kogan Mobile uses the Vodafone 4G network, which covers a significant portion of Australia and performs well in urban areas.

They are also testing 5G, which means 5G should be available in the near future via the Vodafone network, for Kogan customers.

I tested the network primarily in Melbourne, mainly around the city, and overall, it was a successful experience.

Using the Network: Calls, Texts, and Data

During my 8-day trial, I made numerous calls and sent countless texts. The call quality was excellent, with no dropped calls or significant interruptions.

Text messages were delivered instantly, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted communication.

One of the standout features of Kogan Mobile plans is the generous data allowances, I found watching Netflix, and also using YouTube to be easy with no lag.

Data Allowances and Performance

Kogan Mobile offers generous data allowances, and I made it a point to put this to the test.

Here are just a few of their plans:

Streaming videos, browsing social media, and even using GPS navigation were all handled seamlessly.

The network speed was impressive, even during peak hours. Whether you’re working remotely or just browsing the web, it’s more than enough data for most people.

Customer Service Experience

No mobile network test would be complete without assessing customer service. To evaluate this, I reached out to Kogan Mobile’s customer support with a few queries.

The response was prompt and the support team was both knowledgeable and helpful.

They resolved my issues efficiently, which is a testament to the quality of service Kogan Mobile provides.

Even if some of my questions were not the brightest, they tried their best to resolve my queries, so I fully applaud the customer service team.

I also read in detail, their Product Review page, and founds tons of similar experiences with their customer service team, which tells me it’s a consistent thing with Kogan.

Conclusion

After testing Kogan Mobile for 8 days, I can confidently say that it’s a solid choice for anyone looking for a reliable and affordable mobile network.

The combination of great network performance, excellent customer service, and flexible plans makes it a standout option in the market.

I have now tested Kogan Mobile and Kogan NBN, and I’m happy to say, I would recommend both products to anyone considering mobile or internet providers.

Whether you’re considering switching to a new provider or just exploring your options, Kogan Mobile is definitely worth a try.
